South Marston is a village primary school near Swindon with approximately 120 pupils age 3-11, in four mixed-age classes. It has served the community for over 140 years and families from the surrounding areas also choose the school because of its reputation, traditions and Christian values. The academy provides an exciting curriculum and inspiring learning environment, with pupils benefitting from swimming lessons for every year group, a netball court, butterfly garden, Trim-Trail, climbing wall, wildlife pond, and class vegetable gardens. The school was awarded “Good” by Ofsted, with the report stating that pupils "really enjoy school" and they "found it difficult to think of any ways to improve their school." It was also awarded “Good” by SIAMS, who reported that the school’s vision, pupils’ high quality of relationships and the strong sense of community positively impact the children’s personal, spiritual and social development. South Marston was also commended for its happy, secure and inclusive environment in which pupils are nurtured, growing in confidence and self-belief. The school joined the Diocese of Bristol Academies Trust in November 2016.
